Objective: Playing a key role in the efficient transportation and storage of consumer goods. Responsible for the execution, direction, and coordination of all transportation functions and operations within the company within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Overseeing the assets and equipment maintenance, operational safety and ensure compliance with the standard operating procedures of the company. Oversee staff matters, fleet and route planning, and optimization, as well as company adherence to Food safety, ISO, Quality, H&S standards. Responsibilities: • Analyze expenditures and other financial information to develop plans, policies, or budgets for increasing profits and improving services. • Implementing, Executing and Monitoring the Food safety, ISO, Quality, H&S standards in site • Responsible for getting deliveries to the right locations at the right time. • Comply with operations policies and standards, including determining safety procedures for the handling of goods. • Responsible for all of the dispatching, routing, and tracking of delivery vehicles. • Ensuring company compliance of all transport policies, legislation and procedures. • Direct investigations to verify and resolve customer or shipper complaints with authorization level (cost, scope, assets involved, territory covered, etc). • Negotiate and authorize contracts with equipment and materials suppliers, and monitor contract fulfillment, in coordination with central or group procurement manager. • Involved in strategic development and strategy making for assets • Ensure that all transport fleet vehicles are properly maintained and serviced. • Promote safe work activities by conducting safety audits, attending company safety meetings, and meeting with individual staff members. • Regularly liaising with the Warehouse Managers to ensure a smooth running of both departments. • Periodical site visits to the regional offices and/or remote sites to follow up on the implementation of set work processes and policies and taking immediate appropriate action to fix any deficiencies. • Maintain a dashboard of fleet, assets, driver performance, expenses, budgets and other transportation related KPIs. • Responsible for optimizing transportation performance and managing expenses in fulfillment of organizational goals. • Directs all transportation activities, develops transportation relationships, monitors transport costs, works with brokers and agencies to facilitate smooth transportation actions. This includes working very closely with the operations Director, Customer Sales Teams, Customer Service, Supply Planning Teams.
Education Degree in the field of Logistics, Transport CPC, Engineering, Business Degree or any relevant field. Experience 6 - 8 years in the Transportation or Logistics field including 4 years of managerial experience in the Transport of Food products, Cosmetics, and FMCG. Skills • Full understanding of transport operational systems. • Transportation - Knowledge of principles and methods for moving goods by road including the relative costs and benefits. • Knowledge in fleet and route planning and optimization. • Possessing a good understanding of all relevant and fleet controls. • Experience of Budgets and Financial controls. • Knowledgeable in all process compliance areas including: Legislative, Productivity, Quality and Service. • Able to operate effectively in a high-volume service driven operation. • Ability to build and maintain strong cross-functional working relationships. • Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise their workload to ensure maximum benefit for the customers.
